Goals and Plans for the New Year (Not resolutions, just plans)

So, as I've said before, I don't plan on making specific New Years resolutions because I don't want to focus on them as a way to be productive, but I do have some specific goals to accomplish because I'm tired of feeling useless and unproductive. As you may know, I've had a store that I've been working on and off on and the blog of course, but I want to build a set plan to get my goals accomplished, especially as we have lots of plans in both our professional and personal life. I'm not going to get into those just yet, as they're very much in the planning stages, but here's a few of the things I feel are important to get a feel for and to start working intensely towards. We don't always have all the time in the world, so getting started now for things you want to do and get done is a very good idea.

Fantastic Finds Boutique is my project and my way to (hopefully) get out of the daily grind of working for a paycheck. I've been working off and on with creating beautiful items that help fix problems one might run into in a beautiful way. As of now I want to begin working on gift ideas that aren't the traditional type of gifts, such as wine lovers baskets, welcome home baskets, first day in your new place baskets, and fancy stone charm bracelets. No two of my hand crafted jewelry items will be the same, and I've been hard at work creating and fashioning beautiful bracelets with unique charms and color combinations. Here's two of my favorite bracelets so far:

I absolutely love these because the colors pop and the charms are just beautiful. I love the amazonite and amethyst combination in the first one and the color interplay with the light blue and grey stone of the second. These most likely will continue to be my favorites of what I've created so far.

Another project I've been working is my handcrafted leather cord necklaces as well. I've hand assembled these and personally picked out all the charms to ensure these are unique and individualized representations of love. I have a few different types already created with more on the way. Heres a few pictures of these works of art:
I absolutely love the charms and they way they look when they're worn and I hope you love them too! Remember, we're reopening on January 25 of this year...

Okay, enough about my store, as there's more that I plan on getting accomplished than just this store. As I've been a member of Young Living for a while, I want to get started learning even more than I knew before about the benefits of Young Living as well as inspiring others to learn how to help take charge of their health and wellness themselves. I love the products and how they help with issues I face on a daily basis.

It's also important to me to continue learning more and investing into the cryptocurrency and regular stock and mutual fund markets. I want to increase my knowledge and holdings into something I can be proud of instead of just a couple dollars here and there, as that will help, but not grow into anything ridiculously large or help me overcome financial difficulties. I have big plans, but am hampered by a lot, including not having a vehicle or the way to earn more income. It is very frustrating!

Another big goal is reaching higher pageviews per month on average than I have had this past year. It's been a very rough year, so I'm happy with what I've accomplished on this blog so far, but I know I'm capable of so much more. There's so much I still need to learn including how to use and create more graphic content for this and other areas! I've done okay with what I've learned so far but I want to do so much more.

As this is kinda long, I want to mention one more area that I want to focus on this year. I want to build up my writing and content marketing products. It's important to me to create value, and building better advertising packages and writing assistance products will help me get to where I want to be. Helping others turn their rough ideas into beautiful works of written art is very important to me.

So, be ready for lots of changes this upcoming year. I'm so excited to share what I'm accomplishing with you and to walk with you in your own transformations! Thank you for reading so far and I'd love to help you out!

My New Approach to New Years Resolutions

This year, I’m not going to make a list of resolutions to follow. No next year I’m going to do this or that. My resolutions will be simple, because often the most easy to follow or complete things are the ones that are incredibly simple. It’s important to always work towards bettering your character and your attitudes. These are some resolutions that I believe will help create a better life and attitude towards everything.
Seek excellence
Find Joy
The first one seems complicated, but in practice is very much not. Seeking excellence is as simple as working toward goals, living with a defined purpose and set intentions. Seeking excellence is not a one time goal, but a purpose to plan for success and to not live without a defined sense of what you want. This also allows for times where you’re just unmotivated for anything other than laying around. You can simply get up and drink a cup of coffee and clean or do what you are capable of at that particular moment. Excellence is a process…not something that can be completed in a day.
Setting a resolution to live allows you to accept what goes on in your life as simply what it is: a part of life. You can be bitter that you lost income, or that people you care about don’t feel the same about you or you can understand that life is inherently unfair and that we can change our perspective instead of allowing it to break us. Live with the idea that we are here to give value and to appreciate everything, even the negatives. I can tend at times to only see what is going wrong, so resolving to live life is a way to work towards focusing on the wonderful instead of the awful. Everything that happens may not have a reason, but the only thing we are able to control are our own reactions to it and what we do as a result.
Finding joy ties into living life as we are rarely able to control events. We can change how we think about them, and choosing to focus on joy and to create joy in our lives can and often does radically change our overall perspective. I can be negative at times, which is why I feel this is an appropriate goal to have. You can view a life event as crippling and making you helpless, or you can see it as an opportunity to be happy and to focus on the positive aspects. It’s up to you.
So, to conclude, I’d encourage you to view your New Years Resolutions differently this year. Find one attitude that you want to change and work on that instead of “losing weight” or “drinking less”. Those are great resolutions, but personally I believe that changing one’s mindset will naturally spur these intentions to happen naturally as a result of how you think. Allow these resolutions to free you from the prisons of traditional resolutions and to create a better life and perspective. Cheers to 2019 and may your year be useful, profitable, and joyful.

Cheap Budget Food Blogs

So, if you're like me, cooking on a budget is a big thing. How do you make delicious food without spending a ton of money? I've decided to put together a list of bloggers who have the art of cooking cheaply down to a science.

Cheap Recipe Blog

This blog gives you tons of delicious ideas that are low cost and high in flavor! You can pick recipes and know that they're delicious and full of wonderful flavor. My favorite recipes so far are the Oven Roasted Breakfast Potatoes and the Farmers Market Gazpacho.

Patty Anderson's Blog

This also shares cheap and cost effective methods to save money while grocery shopping. I especially love her blog posts about what to incorporate into your kitchen shopping to most effectively use your food supplies. My two favorites from this blog are her Sausage and Beef American Goulash and Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry

Budget Bytes

This is another one that takes each recipe and tells you approximately how much it's going to cost! Love the ideas this wonderful blog has!

September Goals Update, What I did this month regarding my goals and plans

September Update

Well, September has not been the best month for me. I started a new job, which has made it a little difficult to promote and write like I'm used to. I started a new subscription to a scheduling software called Zoho social, which has helped somewhat, and I also began writing for Medium and participating in questions and answers on Quora. These have somewhat taken what little time I now have for my online work, but thankfully, I am enjoying my job and loving my students. However, with them being mostly three and four years old, the whole snot on hands and mouth and spitting, etc, has given me one of those wonderful sinus infections so I'm pretty much down this entire weekend resting for my work week Monday thru Friday.

How I worked toward my goals this month

But! I want to continue my schedule of talking about how goals can improve your performance. I did terrible this month. I don't think I"ll hit any of the goals I planned on. I want to focus on the positive though. I'm seeing a tiny income coming from my blog, I have a wonderful company I use for ads, I have been seen in 70 countries, I have worked for two weeks and finally made a 5 day work week (last week had to skip a day because of sick kids). My son's on his way to a successful school year, my daughter's doing fantastic. We're learning how to manage three full time jobs with two people and all the lunches, bedtimes, bathtimes, signing documents, showers, and life that has to happen between 150 hours of work between the two of us parents. Basically, that means that I've had to start paring down my working online to just a couple hours during the week but mostly on Saturday and Sunday. That's okay though, because Im earning a paycheck and finally able to begin saving for things we a car. Yes, believe it or not we've been living without one for more than a year now, but we're in the perfect position to be without. We are less than a mile from everywhere we need to go.
We can ask for rides for the very few things we need to do that are further away and the most awesome thing is we're able to pay for all our bills now without fearing that we'll run short somewhere. It's a great feeling!

It's okay if you don't get where you want to be

We get all fixated on what we want to accomplish sometimes and forget that we're human. We get sick, our kids get sick, our house turns into a disaster zone, life gets in the way. That's okay. It's okay to put your goals and dreams on the back burner for a while. Just don't forget them and allow them to burn into charcoal like I did with a whole pot of beans yesterday. You gotta keep getting up and trying. Don't let a week or month of failure make you stop trying and wanting to get where you need to go. Just remember to take care of yourself every once in a while. You're not going to get anywhere running yourself ragged!

August Goals...What Happened when I set huge goals

August Goals

I started this post on the tenth, because I wanted to keep up with the whole grabbing and passing goals post from earlier this month. It's good to keep yourself up to speed and familiar with what you want, because then you are able to constantly work on it rather than pushing it to the deadline and then scrambling to get to where you want to be.

Anniversary of Harvey, One Year Later

Learn how to accept your fear

This is a list of countries where my blog has been. I don't know if all are actual views by actual people, but even if I've reached people on half this list, I feel somewhat successful. I have found that during the middle of the month, I tend to start becoming down and sad and unmotivated.

Money Saving Ideas for the Home

What about the rest of the house? Should you just stop in the kitchen and don't work on anything else? I don't think you should, since there are many different ways you can save a bit here and there on energy costs and even help keep things last longer. Don't worry if you can't get to all of these...even one or two should help you a bit more than you think.

Laundry and Home Savings:

Don't think you have to stop in the kitchen! You can save some more if you consider these options.
Keeping temperature of AC down a couple degrees, blinds closing, blackout curtains, running washer on warm or cool instead of hot, using old bars of soap as a laundry assistant, using dryer sheets as cleaning aids, watering down soaps and shampoos to make them last slightly longer, using food materials as beauty products.

Home Stuff

Okay, heating and cooling your house. If you live in a super hot and humid climate like I do, cooling costs can become incredibly prohibitive. How do you save money while staying cool? What's a good temperature to hold your house at? Should you turn your AC off when you leave the house for an extended period of time? What should you do about the windows and blinds? These are all good questions, and I will tell you some ways to help fix the money expenses caused by these issues.
Washing clothes in cooler water. Washing clothes takes time and electricity, both to heat up the water and to run the machine. At my home, we try to use only cold water unless it's super dirty, hang dry our clothes, and to also hand wash those items that are only minimally dirty to save on water and electricity. Plus, if you live in a hot climate, running the dryer adds heat to the house and makes the air conditioning run longer, which costs money. Hang drying can pull heat out and keep the house slightly cooler than allowing the dryer to run and wasting valuable electricity.

Used Saves Cash

Yes, I know there are dangers to buying certain things from thrift stores, but for a lot of products, you can find things a lot cheaper than at the bigger department stores. With thrift stores you can find things that aren't available anymore and you can help reduce your ecological impact and trash footprint. Keeping old things you don't use anymore also takes up space in your home or storage unit and getting rid of them allows others to buy it and use it for longer.
These are just a few types of ways you can save a little bit here here and there. Hope they work for you.

To Conclude

Saving money takes time and energy. It can be somewhat uncomfortable, but if you want to save cash wherever you, sometimes it's not the most comfortable or coolest way. Small measurable steps build success. These steps you take will begin becoming habits, and will create less waste and protect our planet.

Personal Update and Fantastic Finds Boutique introduction!

It's been way too long since I've posted anything! My apologies! Life has gotten in the way a little plus I began my own entrepreneurship adventure! I am selling handmade items, skincare/bath product, and a delicious tea line that I have been working on branding and creating. I also got two little babies that are absolutely adorable AND annoying (what babies aren't at least some of the time) and started an adventure into essential oils! So, here's a bit more about everything:
Introducing Fantastic Finds Boutique!

Fantastic Finds is a boutique designed to give you beautiful and functional products at a discount. We search products to find the most useful products in colors and designs that show off your specific taste or ideas. We sell jewelry, home decor items, kitchen items, and tea ware. That's not all though. Recently, we have decided to create our own line of bath products and face masks and a delicious tea selection. There are black teas and green teas and quite a few herbal blends. I have a lot of trouble trying to stay away from my stock since it's so fantastic! My loss is your gain, however, because you can get your own sample sets and/or bulk sized teas! My tea selection is not listed, so you would have to email OR check out our Facebook page to buy through messenger. Eventually we'll get everything listed, but for now I don't want you missing out! Here's what we have at this moment!

Available Teas for Purchase
Delicious Asian style tea with wonderful flavor. Available for immediate shipping in bulk 1 pound size. Only one available.

Another one of my favorites, with smokey black tea and orange with different spices. Reminds me of orange spice tea with a twist! Available in bulk sizes with a pre-order

A delicious twist on sencha and dragonwell tea! Good for days you need a strong flavor but don't want to make something complicated. Available in 2ish ounce tins and in bulk with a pre-order.

If you want a party in your mouth and adore coconut, then this might be for you! Deliciousness incarnate! This one is one of my favorites and I could drink it ALL DAY! Available in bulk or smaller with a pre order.

Lavender is well known as an herb that promotes calm and relaxation, so drinking this delicious blend is fantastic for relaxing after a really stressful day. Available in bulk with a pre-order.

Tastes like a mint explosion! Mint is well known as a digestive aid for stomach troubles, so this could be fantastic for that late afternoon discomfort! Bulk size available with a pre-order.

This delicious tea is available in 1.75 ounce tins and tastes like a blissful day! Only 2 left, so ordering now will ensure you have a chance to try it out.

Pumpkin spice fans unite! This tea is a delightful twist on the "pumpkin spice" craze and is packed with flavor! Hello Fall in a cup! Available for shipping or pick up immediately in one pound bulk size.

These teas are just a sampling of what's available! I am very excited about this opportunity and am hoping to learn as much as I can about the process so that I can aid you in your own entrepreneur adventure. As I am the owner of both blog and store, I will receive financial benefit from links in this post, but I felt that it was important to share my own stories with you. Transparency is important to me, so here I am. I am going to leave the rest to your own exploration as I don't want to write a book about everything, so I will cut this short here and share more in the next couple days. Good luck and happy saving!

Saturday, March 3, 2018, is it a scam? Survey Sites that WORK

Microworkers: Scam or No: YES IT IS A SCAM

Here's my take:

So I might have mentioned something about as a good place to earn money. After testing it and waiting for longer than necessary for any form of payout, I have determined that no, it does NOT pay out as expected and is a waste of time. I earned the minimum to pay out and requested a pin to be mailed to me (this is a requirement according to their rules), only to never receive it. I am rather disappointed as it seemed like a rather easy way to earn some extra income.

I am still waiting for a confirmation, but it's been months with no payments, so I'm going to make the conclusion that it is not something you can use to make money. Quite depressing if you ask me, especially since the list of tasks are super easy and very helpful and useful. Oh goes on!

So what does work?

Well, since Microworkers didn't work, I do have a list of places that DO work, and have already been verified. Since most mamas don't have time to read multiple posts for the information, I'm rewriting it here so that you can grab it quickly and get to working.  Here's my current list of online opportunities that you can use to make money. I'm just glad I went through and tested before I promoted it as something that worked.

Survey Sites/Work Online Sites:

Survey Savvy
Survey Cow (type in DT20XH for a special bonus for both of us)
Surveys on the Go
Amazon Mechanical Turk
Inbox Dollars
I have already listed their attributes in other posts, so a simple list is best. These are all sites I have received multiple payments from. SurveyCow just sent me $10 to my paypal yesterday and I've made close to a hundred with Amazon Mechanical Turk. I'm at $15 til I can cash out with Inbox Dollars, so yes these are verified.

Heres My Parting Thought:

I hope these help you get to where you want to go. They don't pay millions a year, but there are benefits to using them. I have paid bills and had extra to buy pizza while using these various sites, so don't think you won't make anything. Here's hoping you can get just a bit more in your pocket and can grow into better living standards OR even put some money in the bank! Both are very noble goals if you ask me. Thank you for reading!

Kindness, Condemnation, Judgment, and Suffering

Lately while perusing social media pretty extensively, I've noticed an extreme lack of understanding and more than enough condemnation and judgment. It's rather unfortunate, and shows a lack of care for our fellow humans and is something I believe needs to be changed. How to change it? Choose to always be considerate of others... Be there for the friend who calls and says she's lonely...check up on your friends you KNOW are depressed and make sure they've taken care of themselves lately. DO NOT write incendiary condemning posts about people you consider "different". Who knows what they've gone through and why they react the way they are. Be KIND. I wrote a little something here that expands a little on what I'm saying.

This is my pledge for this of those "New Years Resolutions" if you want to call it that. I choose to every day make it a point to be kind to those who according to the world "don't deserve it". The outcasts...the socially unaccepted...the bullied...the "different." and the ones who desperately are crying out to be noticed or accepted. I will focus on retweeting kindness and compassion on my Twitter and also insist on treating those I come in contact with in the kindest way possible.

I know this is a short post, but I believe it is worth talking about. Part of being a successful mommy and person is learning how to be a good influence in the world...Teaching your children to be kind is crucial to their development, as they will take over the world once we are gone. Don't you want your children to be positive contributors to the world? To be the ones who say, you belong and I don't care if you're different, you're important and your voice matters. I believe this is one of our most important duties as parents of children...We are teaching them how to live in this hideous messed up world and how to help change it.

Stay tuned for a new post sometime this weekend

It has been way too long since I've shared anything, so I will be working on something this weekend in between watching the Olympics. This is a favorite of mine, but ya'll are important too, so I'll be working my hardest on something that is useful and helpful. I hope everything is going well for all my readers!
Necessity dictates that I be short and sweet at the moment! More to come this weekend!

One Pot Chicken Dumplings Soup

Have you ever looked at your pantry and couldn't figure out what to make? I did that today, and I found a few things and made something pretty delicious! Here's what I had and here's what I used.

One Pot Chicken and Dumplings

  1. 1 Can of Chicken and dumplings (I used Sweet Sue's)
  2. 1 Can Mixed vegetables (I used Great Value's Mixed Vegetables, but you can use any brand you want or that you have in your pantry)
  3. 1/2 a bag of frozen broccoli (I used the rest of a bag of Great Value Frozen broccoli I'd used earlier in the week)
  4. Salt and pepper (I used Himalayan Pink salt and fresh ground pepper in a grinder)

  1. Heat up a skillet or saucepan and add all ingredients.
  2. Cook for about ten minutes or til hot and ingredients are cooked through.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and any other seasonings you wish.
  4. Serve hot.
Makes about two and a half servings. My kids ate the entire pot in one meal. To stretch it out a little more, you can add more cans of whatever vegetables you'd like or another bag or two of frozen vegetable. The joy about this recipe is you can add whatever vegetables you want and enjoy a variety of different flavor combinations.

Writer's Corner Entry #1

Welcome to the Writer's Corner!
Today I want to remind you that when you're writing a blog post or pretty much anything, one thing you need to remember is that when you are speaking in "present tense" (meaning happening right now), you need to make sure that it stays the same through the entire paper or post. This makes your writing so much better and allows you to look and sound more credible. If you have noticed that this post is written in present tense, then good for you!
So, if you are talking about something that happened in the past, try to use that form.
What's the difference between to and too? Here's a sentence that may help you..."I went TO the shop TO get food TOO. Too means if you have also done something, you've done it too. Yes I am sorry it is confusing!
What are problems you have had when trying to translate what you are saying into English?

So, as a side business, idea, however you wanna call it, I got involved in trading within the cryptocurrency market. This isn't necessarily a cryptocurrency platform and it's not my goal to switch completely to trading information here, so I wrote an entry on my other blog. You can find it here. I will be writing and posting more on there once I get my information in an organized form and I'm not thinking all over the place, which I struggle with. I will let you know when a new post is available so you can check it out for yourself!
